Elden Ring, which just got a hefty expansion in Shadow of the Erdtree, topped many game of the year lists in 2022. The base game is still plenty massive, expertly bringing FromSoftware’s Souls formula into an open world.
Persona 3 Reload: $34.99 (was $69.99) for PS4/PS5 at Amazon
Atlus’ Persona series has quickly become the gold standard for a certain type of turn-based RPG fan, with flashy visuals and entertaining dialogue that help keep the game’s pace up despite playtimes that can last up to 90 hours. The Meta Quest 3 is a lot of things, but with controllers included in the box and a wide range of games on its store, it is also one of the most popular and accessible VR gaming consoles on the market. Much cheaper than the Apple Vision Pro, it nonetheless offers 4K visuals, 3D audio, and full-color passthrough cameras.

These special editions of Hori's Split Pad Compact offer many of the same benefits of the Split Pad Pro while being slightly smaller, although perhaps a little less ergonomic.
